Boot Cuff Tutorial

Hello! My name is Olivia, I’m 18 years young, a writer, craftaholic, as well as a lover of life! I am so incredibly excited to be guest posting at Craftaholics Anonymous® today! I’ve been following Linda’s lovely blog for over two years now, and I’m still getting inspired by every single tip or tutorial she shares. She is one talented lady!

Generally I love anything that falls into the “cute” or “cozy” category. Not to mention that I’m slightly obsessed with photography. And really anything crafty! Hopeful Honey is my blog where I love to share projects I just finished making. It’s full of DIY’s, Crochet Patterns, Jewellery Instructions, as well as Hair and Beauty tips and tricks!

how to make scalloped boot cuffs

Row 1: Taking your 5.00mm crochet hook, start of by making a Slip Knot, then crochet 19 Chains. Crochet 1 Single Crochet into the third chain from your hook. Then crochet 1 Single Crochet into every chain across. You should have 18 single crochets now.

Row 2 – 41: Chain 1. Crochet 1 Single Crochet into every stitch all across, but only through the front loop. {Note: You can either add or take away a few extra rows depending on your upper calf size.} When you’ve completed all the rows, connect the two ends of the band together to create a circle and Slip Stitch them together. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Scalloped Edging
Rotating your work (ribbing), attach your yarn to the last stitch of Row 41. Chain 1. Crochet 1 Single Crochet into the ends of your ribbings rows, working all along the edge. Make sure to evenly space your stitches all around. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1. You should now have 44 single crochets.

{Note: If you adjusted this cuff , you’ll need to either add or take sets of 4 single crochet stitches depending on if you made your cuff bigger or smaller.}

Round 1~ Chain 1. Single Crochet into the same stitch. Then skip one stitch before crocheting 5 Double Crochets into the following stitch. Skip a stitch, then crochet a Single Crochet. *Skip one stitch before crocheting 5 Double Crochets. Skip a stitch, then crochet a Single Crochet. Repeat from the * mark all across. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends. Repeat entire pattern once more to make a pair of scalloped boot cuffs.
