Crafty Space: Susan from Homeroad

this is the first of many creative Crafty Spaces! {still haven’t nailed down a name yet…} i plan to make this a semi-regular series on here. so if you would like to show off your crafting space, click here to sign up. without any more chit chatter, here is Susan from Homeroad!

Hi everyone I’m Susan. I’m the mother of 4 girls and I’ve been married to my husband Jim for 20 years. I’m a full time teacher with one of the world’s best jobs. Currently I work in the school library teaching classes to children in the primary grades. It’s my job to read to young children every day and teach them about some amazing authors and illustrators.
I have a creative soul, I especially enjoy decorating (and re-decorating). I like to sew, make jewelry and do crafty projects around the house. I’m energized by working on my blog, I love creating and teaching about it. I like to thrift and turn junky finds into something spectacular! I’m always up for learning new things and I enjoy teaching what I know to others.
Take a look through my site at homeroad.net. I hope you like it and can take away some inspiration from me! I just finished the craft room and I’m working on my next project, a work bench in the basement. My husband Jim and I will work together on this one, power tools are on my wish list! Enjoy!

Here’s my finished craft room,

decorated and filled with supplies.
And completely “lived in”.
Here is the before picture:
(Daughter’s room and quite the disaster!)
And here is a picture as she moved her stuff out.

I was moving my tables in as my daughter was
moving her furniture out of the room…
(I wasn’t anxious or anything, but in fairness she was too and
I couldn’t be happier for her success!)
And here is what it looks like now…

The Results:
(Mom cave/office/craft room)
The room I’ve waited for forever is here…

My “crafty” side of the room
The bulletin board is in an old frame painted white.
Notice the board and batten along the desk wall…
and the raised shelf over the desk is very handy.
A shelf for boxes, jars and ribbons…
a cutting table…
My beautiful thrift store jars with the chalkboard labels from
   Groop Dealz

I added cork to one table for a durable work space.
I made this cool glue gun holder…

This wire rack is for cupcakes…
I love to re-purpose things.

This is husband’s not so crafty side…
(luckily he has me to fix it up for him)

The closet on the right was re-done here.
The closet holds all the “crafty stuff”.

Lot’s of room above the cabinet too.

Paper storage….

decorated clip-boards in the basket hold all my blogging notes.

These wall shelves hold different weights

of computer paper.
Here’s another thrift store find,
taken apart and repainted.

I’ve gotta say… I really do love this new space!

A new space for very happy creating!

Hi! I'm Linda, the craft addict behind Craftaholics Anonymous®, a craft blog. Crafting is cheaper than therapy, right? When not crafting, I can be found chasing my 2 small {but very energetic!} boys or playing with my new baby girl. Or shoe shopping... because you can never have too many shoes! Happy crafting! ♥

ha, love the before and after! I can't wait until I move into a house and can have my dream craft room! I had a baby and I suppose she needs a nursery, so I gave up my craft space

I so want your craft room. I am living out of a bin in my closet. I could use your tips for making a child safe area as my small children love to make stuff and like it easily accessible.

    Not jealous, envious!
