Craft Studio Tour with Melissa from fancyMelissa

happy friday!! today i have Melissa here to show us her Crafty Space. enjoy! -linda

Hi, it’s fancyMelissa – Melissa Laverty and I’m super excited to present my Studio.

I’ve been a Close to My Heart Consultant for over 5 years, and recently, I redecorated my Living Room and Dining Room area to create a space where my students & customers could comfortably create, along with an office and retail space. You’ll find that I found most of my organizational pieces at Ikea (Love that place!)

Here are the front and back areas of my space:

In the front area, I have my displays for upcoming classes, available product and artwork on display. I have used 3 4×4 Ikea Expedit Shelves. I love that they fit my 12” tall scrapbooks and storage containers with paper, embellishments, etc.

In the middle, you will see my Deka Wire (Ikea) that I have mounted between the shelving units. Using the including wire clips, I am able to easily display the scrapbook layouts we will be completing in upcoming classes.

In my workshop area, on the left as you walk in, I have my 9-Drawer Alex Unit from Ikea. This is the perfect scrapbook room organizing unit. I love that I can keep all of my tools and embellishments, ribbon & punches in one place and right at my fingertips.

In this cabinet, I keep several of the Krus storage containers from Ikea. These are great because they are made with clear plastic so it’s super easy to see what in them. And they come with removable dividers. LOVE!

This Krus is a little taller and is the perfect height for my reinkers. I can easily fit two of these containers with room to spare in the larger drawers that are on the bottom of the unit.

In the far left corner of the Studio, I have this great bookshelf that I picked up at a local craft store when it was closing. On the top shelf, you’ll see the little Rajtan Spice Jars that I picked up from Ikea for all my different colored buttons. I also have two of CTMH’s now retired Accent Organizers for my brads and other small embellies.

On the middle shelf, I have 8 of my CTMH MyAcrylix Stamp Organizers for all of my clear stamps. And the binder has all of my larger stamp sets.

Then you will see my Sterilite Drawers. I recently started using these. I typically craft using products from Close to My Heart, so in these drawers I keep everything that goes with a certain paper pack, including stickers, embellishments and stamp sets. These are super easy to pack up for crops, or to just pull one drawer out at a time while I am working.

On the opposite wall, I have a buffet that my mom found for me. It’s my Cricut station. My Expression2, Gypsy & Cartridge Organizer Binder are ready for me to use. The drawers on the left hold mats, vinyl and supplies. Hidden on the bottom right hand-side is a large open area where I have my trimmers, photo storage and memorabilia storage.

On the left you’ll see my cardstock storage. I keep my cardstock color coordinated in 3 Iris cases I found at Michaels. And I also have a 8 ½” x 11” file holder for smaller scraps…perfect for card making.

Finally, I have this Lerberg wire shelving unit. I keep Cropper Hoppers with additional cardstock, bulk patterned paper, my CTMH Idea Books, my tool caddy, clear block organizer and sample starter kit basket here.

Thanks for joining me on a tour of my studio. I am so lucky to have such a great space to craft in and I love to share it with my friends. So come on by anytime. And be sure to stop by my website, fancyMelissa, whenever you get a chance.

Hi! I'm Linda, the craft addict behind Craftaholics Anonymous®, a craft blog. Crafting is cheaper than therapy, right? When I'm not DIYing something, I can be found taxiing around our 4 crazy kids or working out. Or shoe shopping... because you can never have too many shoes! Happy crafting! ♥
