Baby Reveal!

In case you haven’t noticed, I have been majorly slacking off in the blogging department lately. I am so behind on emails and just about everything! {You should see my house. yikes.} But it’s for good reason! I am pregnant and very sick! We just told our kiddos the big news on Mother’s Day, and here is how we did it!

Baby Reveal

Their reactions were hilarious! When we told them we had a big present with a surprise in it, they thought it was a puppy. So you can imagine what they thought when they only saw a big balloon in the box. They were definitely confused! We had to prompt them to look at the balloon and my oldest asked, “Who’s having a baby?” It was so funny! They figured it out pretty quick though! After the initial, “its not a puppy” sad faces, they were super excited!

Baby Announcement idea - simple, easy, fun

So, I have to tell you about this amazing little helium tank I got that made this baby reveal possible! Did you know you can buy your own personal helium tank? Yeah, me neither! But you can! And it’s pink! I die. Check it out:personal Helium tank

Yep, we blew up our own GIANT helium balloon at home! It was so fun! I didn’t have to time the baby reveal around a trip to the store and worrying about the balloon popping in the car on the way home.

And, hello! Think about party prep! I always end up needing more balloons than I think when I’m decorating for a party, so how convenient will it be to have my own helium tank at the party site while I’m setting up??! Genius. I am planning a baby shower for a friend in a couple weeks and this thing is going to save my life. I am so excited to use it again!

As for how we did it, this is how we prepared the giant gift box for the Baby Reveal:

Supplies:

  • Large Cardboard box
  • Packing Tape
  • Party Time Helium Tank
  • Giant Latex balloon
  • Balloon string
  • Stencil
  • Gold Spray paint
  • Stencil
  • Wrapping paper
  • Gift Bow

box

We used a huge cardboard box and created a lid. Then I wrapped it in gold and white wrapping paper with a gold bow on top.

After blowing up the balloon, I used a stencil and gold spray paint to put “BABY” on the balloon. We then taped the end of the balloon string to the bottom of the box with packing tape and put the lid on top.

Baby Reveal for kids

This picture makes me laugh! The Baby Reveal was full of lots of emotions! Davis and I don’t like to find out the gender of our babies, so it was fun to have a “big reveal” for us to share with the kids and others. {The surprise at birth is just so fun! It’s worth the wait for us.}
