About Linda@CraftaholicsAnonymous

Hi! I'm Linda, the craft addict behind Craftaholics Anonymous®, a craft blog. Crafting is cheaper than therapy, right? When not crafting, I can be found chasing my 2 small {but very energetic!} boys or playing with my new baby girl. Or shoe shopping... because you can never have too many shoes! Happy crafting! ♥

LOVE this idea! i just have big bins full of stuff — 3 of them are marked ‘misc.’ so that doesn’t really help me know what’s inside at all ha! looking forward to the tips – i dream of having at least one scrapbox someday.

I just started organizing stuff the last couple of days and would love tips and ideas. As a wise woman said “One size does not necessarily fit all. So find what works for you.” I would like to find the ways of organizing that works for me that allows for the adding on of craft goodies. Look forward to reading the posts.

How did you guess that I’m organizing my first craft room. My crafting supplies have been scattered all over the house, upstairs and in the basement. Well I recently retired and have developed some knee problems so am working on getting all my crafts in one room where I can get to all of the supplies and tools. I have found that I had NO IDEA how much stuff I have. And no money to buy anything extra, I’m having to do it all with the items on hand. It’s definitely a challenge. I’d post a picture but I’m too ashamed for anyone to see the before. And trust me what it looks like right now is a 1,000 times better than it was at first. Needless to say I can’t wait to see what tips come up.

I haven’t been to one of these….I have a lot to organize…I didn’t see how this was set up to go? Is it just some online posting for us to read or? Sounds like something I really need so not really sure how to make sure I follow properly

    Donna Robertson says:

The perfect organization method is the one that fits your style. Some people need everything in a certain place ALL the time. Others, on the “other”hand, have no organizational method and spend an inordinate amount of time searching through boxes, bins and piles. My style is a combination of the two. I need to have my supplies at hand, and everything in its place when I begin a project. Somehow, in the middle of the creative process, my work surface begins to look like an F5 tornado descended on it. I have a chronic pain issue, and by the time I do finish something, it may be days before I can clean up after the tornado. Having everything within arm’s reach would solve this problem for me, as well as those who are OCD proned and those who are not organizationally inclined. A Worktop would be just the thing for the days when I am not able to do the reaching and sorting. I could still do the close work, and see and have what I need at hand. Yay for organization!

I’ve just spent 2 weeks ‘trying’ to organize my craft room with mismatched storage pieces….this would be a great start while I am saving for my scrapbox unit!!

Oh, I need this. I just got a little sewing machine from ebay to teach my daughter on and I want to clean up my space a bit before it gets here!
