Book Page Wreath
Check out my book page wreath!
When I saw Living with Lindsay’s Book Page Wreath, I knew I had to make one of these gorgeous wreaths! I sat down to make it during my little man’s 1.5 hour nap and thought it I would easily have it done by the time he woke up…. oh no. Try an entire bag of hot glue sticks and many, many hours after little man went to bed…. then it was done!! Seriously, at one point, I about threw it out the window. It didn’t help that it had an ‘ugly duckling’ phase in the process.
But now I love it! I think my book page wreath looks good on my fireplace. Now if only the hot glue burns on my hands will just fade a bit…. (yes, a low heat hot glue gun in on my Christmas list :)
This is the book I used to make my wreath. I got it from a thrift store after I found out I was preggo with little man. It’s a bit dated and I didn’t like the ideas in it much, so it was the lucky book chosen to get sacrificed. I used Ranger Distress inks on the edges of the pages to get a slightly distressed look. Then rolled each paper and cut the tubes into different lengths. This gave my wreath a nice, textured look. Then hot glued each small tube of paper to the styrofoam wreath. This took forever and gave me plentyof burns and blisters.
So that’s my version of the classic book page wreath! I like how full mine is, although it took probably around 12 hours to make. I absolutely love it, but this is one craft I will never make again! lol
happy crafting,
Linda
