I have been loving the color gray for the fall season and wanted a gray skirt. I made this one out of a gray knit (bought fabric for $2.60) and sewed a “Flat Flower” on the front. (to see how to make a basic skirt, click here to see my tutorial) Davis took these pics. He did an awesome job, huh! Here’s a quickie on how I did the Flat Flower.
Cut 1/4″ x 56″ strip of fabric and starting in the center of the flower, wrap around and tuck in the end. Pin to hold in place (optional, see below).
Start sewing in the center of the flower. My flower grew as I sewed and the pins got in the way. So I ended up taking them out and wrapping the fabric around as I went.
This is the Flat Flower completely sewn.
I’m going to make some more soon and it would be easy to make a tutorial while I was at it. Would you be interested in a tutorial? Leave a comment and let me know. Thanks!!
