how to make a QR code for your business card!

happy saturday! i don’t usually post on saturdays much, but after all the inquiries about the QR Code on my business cards yesterday, i decided to surprise y’all and post today. so i’m here to show you how to make and put a QR code on your business cards or other business goodies.

*please note i had a date one night with my printer {and sewing machine} and made my business cards myself…. because i’m all DIY like that….or just cheap…… :)

my friend Karla from Archer Creative clued my into this brilliant site: QR Stuff. your life will never be the same after you see what it can do for you…..it creates a QR code for you in about 7.2 seconds. for reals. it is so simple  and you don’t have to create an account unless you want access to other fancy features:

make a QR code

1. simply select the type of data you’d like your QR code to link to

2. enter the URL of the link {for ex: i put my blog’s address as shown. you could even put a link to a specific post on your site/blog}

3. pick your foreground color. TIP: use black and only black! i tried to go all fancy and picked gray, but when i printed it out, my smart phone couldn’t read the QR code. {wasted like 15 business cards! so learn from my mistake and stick with black}

4. then select how you’d like to receive your FREE QR code {QR t-shirt, anyone??} i selected email and then saved the file to my computer and added to the program i used to create the rest of the design {minus the fabric haha}.

and for those who are wondering, i use Picasa and Picnik {both free and super user friendly} to edit my pictures and do little projects like business cards. because i am a clueless fool when it comes to photoshop!

so there you have it. one super handy little site to solve your QR Code needs. just remember to make your QR code in black and you’re good to go!

so who’s ready to go out and plaster everything in site with a QR code? haha

right now i’m…..
